I am happy to recommend Penguin Pianos to anybody who is interested improving piano tuning and quality of sound. It is difficult in west of Ireland to find people who are competent not just in piano tuning but also are capable of improving the keyboard action and adjusting hammers to suit individual taste. I found Veit and Rania Kuhn easy to deal with and very knowledgeable when I asked them to adjust and tune a 30 year old Yamaha piano. Wishing continued success to Penguin Pianos.

I have been responsible for the maintenance of the Pianos in our schools and convents for forty years, as I teach Music. Recently, Mr. And Mrs. Veit and Rania Kuhn, namely "Penguin Pianos" updated our pianos in April. The improvement in tone and tuning was immediately obvious. Words fail to describe my admiration for their skill, dedication, knowledge and love of the instrument. They take great pride in their work and returned after one week to ensure that the tuning was perfect pitch.

Veit and Rania from Penguin Pianos serviced my German Sauter piano recently and I was very pleased with the tuning and voicing they performed. They offered me an appointment at a time and date which was suitable to me and arrived promptly. They gave me some very good advice regarding maintenance and cleaning of my piano also. The Co. Clare VEC Adult Education Service gratefully acknowledges the sponsorship of Penguin Pianos in the acquisition of a brand new Schiller piano for the Adult & Community Education Centre in Ennis. The new piano is a wonderful addition to the centre and will greatly enhance the adult education service’s community music programme which aims to help adult learners to explore, appreciate and enjoy the benefits of music in their lives.
The music programme will integrate the development of musical-rhythmical intelligence with relevant topics in general adult education courses including music and maths; music and communications; music and interpersonal skills; music and English language training; music and cultural diversity; music and memory; music and relaxation; music, imagination and creativity.
The music programme will also increase understanding of the value of music in exercising the mind. According to Philip Ball in The Music Instinct, recent studies into how the brain receives and processes music have demonstrated that music engages the whole brain – the emotions, the intellect, language processing centres and the body as well. Music is truly ‘a gymnasium for the mind’.

I was booked to perform at a wedding on Easter Monday 2010 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rathass, Tralee and needed a piano to execute the programme of music chosen for the ceremony as there was none in the church. I found Penguin Pianos website which advised that they provided a piano hire service and gave them a call.
I spoke with Ms. Rania Kuhn who from the outset was a pleasure to deal with. I advised my requirements and benefited from Rania’s advice on the choice of piano I should make.
Easter Monday is a difficult day to make such an arrangement as it is a bank holiday but that did not pose a problem for this company. They were accessible by phone at all times, arrived exactly at the allocated time, had moved the piano into the church quickly and carefully (with piano stool), set up according to my requirements and Mr. Veit Kuhn spent great time and care ensuring the piano was in perfect tune.
Penguin Pianos provide an excellent and extremely reasonably priced piano hire service and did not charge extra on account of the bank holiday Monday.

Penguin Piano's offer an excellent service travelling that further distance to cater for our piano's needs.
They don't 'just' tune the piano, they revive its sound by looking after every nook and cranny, every pin and hinge of its inner workings.
The German 'Grundlichkeit' (thoroughness) is what makes every job by Veith and Rania Kuhn a job well done!
